Forest School First Aid - 2 Days (ITC)

The Forest School First Aid course is designed to meet the specific needs of Forest Schools Practitioners. Forest Schools Practitioners are required to hold an appropriate first aid certificate which has additional elements of outdoor and paediatric first aid. This course covers child and adult first aid.

This is a bespoke course. In addition to adult first aid it includes child related issues, including child CPR and use of a defibrillator, child choking and common illnesses including asthma, diabetes, epilepsy and anaphylaxis. The essential infant first aid content is also covered to enable an Ofsted/EYFS recognised Level 3 Certificate in Paediatric First Aid (12+ hours) to be awarded.

The course is 16 hours so therefore satisfies the requirements of all other outdoor national governing bodies, and is also suitable for bushcraft first aid, survival first aid, woodland first aid, wilderness first aid, Scout and Duke of Edinburgh Award leaders, etc.

Outdoor and Paediatric First Aid (16 hours)

This course covers all the same content as the Level 3 award in Paediatric First Aid, but looks at this and additional content, including adult CPR, in an outdoor context. This course is suitable for anybody who takes children out of the classroom, satisfies Ofsted/EYFS and validates Forest School and other outdoor teaching/coaching qualifications.

Successful participants of this course receive three certificates:

•  Outdoor and Paediatric First Aid (16 hours)

• ITC Level 3 Certificate in Paediatric First Aid (12+ hours)

• Emergency First Aid at Work - 6 hours

As part of these courses will normally take place outdoors, ensure you bring clothing appropriate to the weather conditions.
